What is Format Display Options? When you create a new ad, you may see this above your primary text.
Let’s talk about it…
How it Works
Here’s how Meta describes it:
Combine uploaded media with product and site link media to show your creative in more formats, based on what’s likely to engage different people.
So Meta will automatically generate a carousel and collection using site link and product creative.
For the Collection format, your main ad creative is featured at the top. The site link and image cards are displayed below.
And for the carousel format, your main ad creative is displayed first. When you scroll, you’ll see the other site link and product images in the carousel.
You can turn either of these formats off…
but they’re on by default if site links or products are on.
Optimize Creative
Make sure that you’ve customized your site links with thumbnail images since they’ll be used in these formats.
As long as you put some work into these formats, this could be a really valuable option. But there’s also a risk if this is on and you’re not paying attention to optimizing how they look.
